In the case of emergency, tenants should immediately contact 000 and Building security on 0430 491 197.
All staff are required to become familiar with the Emergency Evacuation routes which are displayed in or around the lift lobbies on each floor.
CB Richard Ellis employs the services of a specialist consultant (First Five Minutes) to provide the following:
- Regular updating of the floor and stair warden list. The tenant is to keep the evacuation consultants advised of warden movement, i.e. Transfers, resignations etc;
- Conduct training sessions for new wardens and staff and provide updates for existing floor and stair wardens.
- Organise trial emergency building evacuations.
Trial building evacuations are carried out periodically (usually every twelve months) and it is essential that all tenants participate.
The Workplace Health and Safety Act 1983, Section 15, requires employers to provide information, instruction, training and supervision as may be necessary to ensure the health and safety at work of their workers.
In accordance with Australian Standard 3745-1990, floor wardens should ensure all new occupants are shown the location of the fire equipment and the evacuation routes.
For emergency evacuation information, a full procedural manual is kept in the fire cupboards of each floor and the floor wardens should be conversant with its contents.
Fire stairs are located at the north and south end of the service corridors. Adjacent to each fire stair there is a cupboard containing a hydrant, hose reel, fire extinguisher and WIP phone used to communicate with the Chief Fire Warden.
The fire warden procedures manual is to be issued at time of training session by the authorised trainer.
Two evacuation training sessions and two evacuation exercises will be conducted each year for all tenants.
Tenants requiring additional training can arrange this through Building Management at the associated cost.
