Gold Fields House has been built to conform to highly regulated statutory controls to make the building safe in the event of a fire or emergency.

 

The building is protected by a fully automatic sprinkler system installed throughout all floors to Australian Standard 2118. The system is connected to an external monitoring contractor.

 

An Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) is installed to provide communications and assist with the evacuation of the building in the case of emergencies.

 

Occupants should note: at approx 9.00am on the first Wednesday of each month, the EWIS system is tested. This test includes a brief announcement on the public address system and a siren test.

 

A six month audible test is also carried out.
